Privacy policy

In short: the videos and images you check never leave your device. We don’t use cookies, we don’t track you across sites, and we don’t sell anything about you. We count visits anonymously so we know the site is being used.
Who we are
AhCrop (ahcrop.com) is run by Cormac Moore, an individual based in Ireland, who is the data controller for this site. Contact: hello@ahcrop.com.
Your files
When you add a video or image, your browser reads it directly on your device. It is never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we can’t see it. Exported PNGs are created on your device and saved to your downloads. Screenshots you add to compare placements are kept in memory only and are gone when you close the tab.
What’s saved on your device
To remember your settings between visits, AhCrop saves these in your browser’s local storage, on your device only:
- display preferences (platforms, background, panels, overlay settings)
- the post copy you type in (handle, post copy, headline and button text)
This information is not sent to us. It’s needed for features you ask for, so no consent is required under the ePrivacy rules. To delete it, use Settings → Reset in AhCrop, or clear this site’s data in your browser. AhCrop also stores its own app files for offline use; it never stores your media.
Cookies
AhCrop doesn’t use cookies.
Anonymous visit counts
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It records the page visited, the referring site, and your country, browser, operating system and device type. It uses no cookies. Instead it creates an anonymous identifier from your request that resets every day and can’t be used to identify you or follow you to other sites. Query strings are removed before anything is sent, and nothing about your files, post copy or settings is ever included.
We rely on our legitimate interest (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) in understanding how much the site is used so we can maintain and improve it.
Hosting
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like any web host, Vercel processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and protect the service from abuse, and keeps short-lived logs. This is necessary to run the site (legitimate interest, GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). Vercel acts as our processor and may process data in the United States under appropriate safeguards, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
What we don’t do
- No accounts, sign-ups or uploads.
- No advertising, ad trackers or tracking across sites.
- No selling or sharing of personal information, as defined by California and other US state laws.
- No profiling or automated decisions about you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct or delete personal data about you, object to or restrict its use, and ask for a copy. Because we hold almost nothing that identifies you, there’s usually nothing to retrieve, but we’ll always answer: email hello@ahcrop.com. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission in Ireland, or to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
AhCrop is a tool for professionals and isn’t aimed at children. We don’t knowingly collect data from children.
Changes
If we change how AhCrop handles data, for example by adding cookies or new analytics, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change goes live.
